At Advent….

We can hardly believe it is June and we are half way through 2010!  We are looking forward to enjoying the summer, which officially starts June 21.  

This month we are also taking time to recognize some national health campaigns:

June 6                   23rd Annual National Cancer Survivors Day

June 14-22          National Men’s Health Week

June 27                 Eye Safety Awareness Week begins

And don’t forget Dad; father’s day is June 20!

For Patients and their Families

The Home Safety Council (HSC) has made June Home Safety Month. Take time this month to encourage friends and family to make their home safer.   

 Home safety is especially important for seniors.  Here are a few basic precautions:
- Install grab bars and a non-slip mat in the bathroom
- Add handrails to both sides of staircases
- Make sure hallways are well lit
- Secure rugs to the floor
